It is with great pleasure that I share with you today the story of a remarkable voyage that led me to the fascinating Rila Monastery in Bulgaria. This adventure took place earlier this year. This monastery is a place where history, nature, and spirituality all join together to produce a beautiful symphony that cannot be missed. Join me as I recount the story of my journey via the lens of not just my camera but also the lens of my feelings, as I explored not only the historical appeal of the monastery but also the stunning natural surroundings that surround it.
A Quick Step Back into the Past:
When I was getting closer to the Rila Monastery, I was immediately taken away by the timeless beauty of the monastery. Since this UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in the 10th century, it has a long and glorious history during which it has seen the passage of many centuries as well as the rise and fall of human existence. As a result, it has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. As I made my way through the building's ornate archways and paintings, I couldn't help but feel a strong connection to the many generations who had come before me to find solace and motivation inside its walls.

The construction of the Rila Monastery stands as a testament to the ingenuity and perseverance of human beings. Each of the stunning domes, intricate woodcarvings, and vibrant paintings conveyed a different story about faith and endurance in their own distinctive ways. When I pushed the trigger on my camera, I had the intention of capturing not just the aesthetic appeal of the monastery from the outside, but also the mystical force that flows forth from its core.

When I was framing my shots, I wanted to capture the beautiful connection that occurred between the natural world and the constructed environment. It was a visual symphony that spoke to my soul and I wanted to make sure that I was able to do so.
